Sono Bello is a national chain of cosmetic surgery centers built around one product: laser assisted liposuction it brands as TriSculpt, sold per treatment area and paid for entirely in cash. The company runs more than 100 centers, and private equity investors have put $816 million into it, most of that since 2023, according to PitchBook data reported by KFF Health News and NBC News in July 2025.

Here is the fact that shapes everything else on this page. Sono Bello does not publish a price. We opened its pricing and affordability page, its pricing and financing explainer, its procedures FAQ, its TriSculpt page and its military discount page on September 4 2026, and none of them carries a dollar figure for any procedure. The only dollar amounts anywhere on the affordability page are CareCredit interest rates. So this guide assembles what the company has said about per-area pricing, what patients were actually billed according to court and medical records, and what the credit behind those bills costs.

What Does Sono Bello Cost Without Insurance?

The figures below come from three different kinds of evidence: a range a Sono Bello executive gave a national publisher, documented patient bills reported by KFF Health News and NBC News, and third-party 2026 estimates. They disagree with each other, so the table publishes the spread rather than pretending there is one number.

Service or typeLowAverageHigh
One treatment area, range from Sono Bello’s chief medical officer (2023)$1,395n/a$2,995
One treatment area, third-party 2026 estimates$1,400n/a$5,000
Full multi-area treatment plan, third-party 2026 estimate$5,000n/a$15,000
Documented bill: AbEX plus abdominal liposuction, Las Vegasn/a$14,703n/a
Documented bill: tummy tuck procedure, financedn/a$19,838n/a
Monthly payment on that $19,838 bill over five yearsn/a$420n/a
Liposuction surgeon fee, U.S. national average (ASPS)n/a$4,711n/a

Two cautions on the bottom row. The $4,711 American Society of Plastic Surgeons average is a surgeon’s fee only, and ASPS states plainly that it excludes anesthesia, operating room facilities and other related expenses. It is a useful benchmark for what the surgical work is worth nationally, not a quote. Our full breakdown lives at liposuction cost without insurance.

Sono Bello Cost Per Area, and Why Nobody Will Quote You One

Sono Bello prices by treatment area, and it says so. Its January 21 2026 pricing explainer lists treatment areas, tissue density, whether skin tightening is added, the technology used and the estimated procedure time as the variables, then states that the company “does not rely on standardized price lists or online estimates” and that pricing is set after a free consultation.

The one per-area range attributable to Sono Bello itself is from its chief medical officer, Dr. Christopher Chung, who told The Healthy that prices are based on BMI and range from $1,395 up to $2,995 per area. That quote is from 2023, so treat it as three years stale rather than a current rate.

Third-party estimates are all over the place, and one of them contradicts itself. A Los Angeles plastic surgery practice’s 2026 guide to Sono Bello pricing opens by saying procedures run $1,400 to $5,000 per area, then states a few paragraphs later that the average is $1,000 to $1,500 per area. Both sentences sit on the same page. That is a fair illustration of how little anyone outside the company actually knows.

What is consistent across every source is the structure: a per-area price that scales with your BMI, plus a separate surgical fee, plus additional charges if excess skin removal (which Sono Bello calls AbEX) is added. A “one area” quote is almost never the number you sign.

What Drives the Price

Your BMI. Sono Bello prices per area by body mass index and pays its surgeons the same way. KFF Health News reported that the company compensates surgeons using a formula it calls a “surgical value unit” that factors in patient BMI, and a company medical director explained that higher-BMI patients require additional work and complexity. Higher BMI means a higher per-area price.

How many areas. Sono Bello’s own pricing FAQ states that treating multiple areas at once typically lowers the per-area price. That is a volume discount, and it is also the mechanism that turns a $2,000 conversation into a $15,000 one.

Whether skin removal is added. The AbEX excess skin excision is a separate line item on top of liposuction, and it is the difference between the low four figures and the high five figures on a quote.

Geography. Sono Bello operates in more than 100 metros. Metro cost of living moves the number, which is why a Los Angeles estimate and a Wichita estimate will not match.

The surgical fee. Separate from per-area pricing, patients consistently report a flat surgical fee added to the plan. Ask for it as its own line before you agree to anything.

Cash Price vs. Insurance

There is no insurance side to compare. Cosmetic body contouring is elective, so no public or private plan covers it, and Sono Bello says so directly in its own pricing explainer. That means no in-network rate, no explanation of benefits, no deductible credit, and none of the federal surprise-billing protections that apply to covered care.

It also means the price is completely unregulated. Nothing requires Sono Bello, or any cosmetic chain, to post a rate. That is why the Federal Trade Commission’s advertising authority is the only real check here. In January 2023 the FTC ordered LasikPlus operator LCA-Vision to pay $1.25 million over bait-and-switch ads, finding that only 6.5 percent of consumers who came in for a consultation qualified for the advertised promotional price, while patients with less than near-normal vision were typically quoted $1,800 to $2,295 per eye. Different procedure, identical dynamic: in an elective cash market, the advertised number and the quoted number are not the same number.

The practical consequence is that you should treat the consultation as a negotiation, not an intake. Ask for the full written quote, itemized, before you put money down, and take it home.

Sono Bello Financing: What CareCredit Actually Costs

Sono Bello’s affordability page, read September 4 2026, publishes CareCredit promotional terms rather than prices. The reduced-APR offers listed are 24 months at 17.90% APR and 36 months at 18.90% APR on purchases of $1,000 or more, 48 months at 19.90% APR, and 60 months at 20.90% APR on purchases of $2,500 or more. The same page discloses a standard purchase APR of 32.99% and a penalty APR of 39.99% for accounts opened on or after 5/30/2024.

Those are reduced-rate offers, meaning interest accrues from day one at the lower rate. That is a different product from the deferred-interest promotions the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau flagged in its May 2023 report on medical credit cards, where any balance left at the end of a 6-to-18-month window triggers all the interest retroactively from the purchase date. CFPB found consumers paid $1 billion in deferred interest on healthcare charges between 2018 and 2020, and put the typical medical credit card APR at 26.99% against roughly 16% for general purpose cards. If a Sono Bello consultant offers you a lender other than the promotions above, ask specifically whether it is deferred interest.

Run the arithmetic before you sign. The patient KFF Health News profiled is paying $420 a month for five years against a $19,838 bill. Sixty payments of $420 is $25,200.

How to Pay Less

Get the itemized written quote and leave with it. Sono Bello says consultations are free and carry no obligation. Use that. A quote you can read at your kitchen table is a quote you can compare, and comparing is the entire game in a market with no posted prices. The same logic that works on hospital bills works here: see how to read an itemized bill.

Price the same work at an independent surgeon. A board-certified plastic surgeon quoting liposuction directly is competing against the ASPS national average of $4,711 in surgeon fees. Get at least two outside quotes on the identical area list before you compare anything to Sono Bello’s package. Our fair price tool will show you the range for the underlying procedure.

Negotiate the plan down by cutting areas, not by asking for a discount. Because pricing is per area, the fastest way to lower the number is to treat fewer areas now and stage the rest. That is a real lever. General negotiation tactics that transfer well to elective quotes are in how to negotiate medical bills.

Do not finance at 20.90% if you can avoid it. Compare the promotional APR against a credit union personal loan or a 0% intro-APR general-purpose card before accepting the in-office offer. The convenience of signing at the consultation is exactly what the financing is priced for.

Say no to same-day pressure. Patients told KFF Health News and NBC News that they felt hard-sold and were discouraged from leaving without putting money down. A price that only exists today is a sales tactic, not a discount.

Know what happens if something goes wrong. Elective cosmetic bills that go to collections behave like any other consumer debt, and complications can generate real medical bills on top. If that happens, medical bills in collections covers your options.

The Bottom Line

Budget $1,400 to $5,000 per treatment area and expect a total plan somewhere between $5,000 and $20,000 once a surgical fee and any skin removal are added. The two hardest numbers on this page, $14,703 and $19,838, come from court and medical records rather than marketing, and they are the most honest anchor available for what a full Sono Bello plan actually costs.

If you are comparing chains, AirSculpt cost covers the other big cash-pay body contouring brand, which reports an average of about $12,700 per patient visit in its SEC filings. If you want the non-surgical alternatives, see CoolSculpting cost and Emsculpt cost. If your interest is really the loose skin rather than the fat, tummy tuck cost is the closer comparison. And if you are pricing other cash-pay aesthetic chains, LaserAway cost and Ideal Image cost follow the same consultation-quote playbook.
