Hers is the women’s brand of Hims & Hers Health, and it sells prescription care the same way its brother brand does: as an auto-renewing subscription with a friendly number on the product tile. The catalog is what differs. Where Hims is built around erectile dysfunction and male-pattern hair loss, Hers is built around birth control, women’s hair loss, psychiatry medication, prescription skincare, menopause hormones and GLP-1 weight loss.

This is a price guide, not a review. Every Hers figure below was read from forhers.com on September 5, 2026, and every comparison figure comes from CMS acquisition-cost data, Cost Plus Drugs’ posted prices, or the drug manufacturer’s own self-pay pharmacy. Subscription prices move constantly and vary with how long a plan you commit to, so re-check the page before you buy.

What Does Hers Cost Without Insurance?

Hers advertises “from” prices, which reflect the longest plan you can prepay. A 30-day plan usually costs more.

The cheap end of the catalog is birth control and hair. The Hers birth control page and its own FAQ both state plans start at $12 a month for a list of about a dozen generic combined and progestin-only pills, with free delivery and refills shipped six days before you run out. Topical minoxidil is $12.67 a month, biotin gummies $13.50, and the prescription Hair Blends serums, chews and postmenopausal serum run $25 to $35, with shampoos at $18 to $38.

Psychiatry is the middle of the catalog. The Hers psychiatry page lists duloxetine at $40 a month, seven other generics (escitalopram, sertraline, bupropion XL, fluoxetine, buspirone, citalopram and venlafaxine) at $49 a month each, and a compounded product called Balance Blend Rx at $55. Those are medication prices with prescriber messaging included, not therapy prices. Hers does not sell talk therapy, and its own blog sends readers elsewhere for it, so budget counseling separately using our therapy cost guide.

Menopause is the one line Hers does not price publicly. Its menopause and perimenopause pages describe a kit that can include an estradiol pill or patch, a progesterone pill and an estradiol vaginal cream, but carry no dollar figure anywhere on the page as of September 5, 2026. You have to complete the intake to see a price, which is worth knowing before you hand over a medical history. For reference, CMS acquisition-cost data as of August 19, 2026 puts estradiol 1 mg at 6.4 cents a tablet and progesterone 100 mg at 23.1 cents a capsule, so the underlying drugs are inexpensive. Our HRT cost guide covers what those cost elsewhere.

What Drives the Price

How long a plan you commit to. Hims & Hers told the SEC that subscribers pick shipment cadences or treatment terms ranging from 30 days out to 360 days, and that longer terms carry lower per-shipment costs. That is why the same minoxidil shows $12.67 on the landing page. The number you see is usually the longest prepay available, not the monthly rate.

Whether it is a real generic or a compounded blend. Balance Blend Rx, the Hair Blends serums and chews, and the Acne and Anti-Aging Rx creams are compounded, which Hers labels as not approved or evaluated by the FDA for safety, effectiveness or quality. That is a clinical question for a prescriber, and it is also a pricing fact: there is no pharmacy equivalent to compare a compounded blend against, so those lines cannot be arbitraged.

The weight-loss membership. This is the single biggest structural difference between Hers and a pharmacy. Per the Hers Weight Loss FAQ, the membership is $39 for the first month and $149 a month afterward, medication not included, and medication is not available without an active membership. Hims & Hers confirmed to the SEC that it launched the program at the end of March 2026 and that memberships primarily auto-renew monthly. The membership includes provider messaging, dosage adjustments, in-app tracking and a smart scale the company values at $55.

The end of cheap compounded semaglutide. FDA declared the semaglutide injection shortage resolved on February 21, 2025 and the tirzepatide shortage resolved the same day, which ended the shortage-era allowance that let compounders make copies. Enforcement discretion for state-licensed pharmacies compounding semaglutide under section 503A ran out in April 2025, and for outsourcing facilities under 503B on May 22, 2025. As of FDA’s April 1, 2026 update, neither semaglutide nor tirzepatide appears on the 503B bulks list or the shortage list, and on April 30, 2026 FDA proposed formally excluding semaglutide, tirzepatide and liraglutide from that list, finding no clinical need. Hims & Hers responded in March 2026 by shifting its US weight-loss offering to branded GLP-1s with compounded products available only on a limited scale, which is why the Hers weight-loss page now reads like a manufacturer price list.

Bundling. Several Hers products fold a prescription together with a supplement or a shampoo. Bundles simplify checkout and raise the monthly number. Priced separately at a cash pharmacy, the prescription component alone would usually cost less.

Cash Price vs. Insurance

Hers is a cash-pay business by design. It bills a card, not a drug plan, and it does not run a claim. For two of its biggest categories that matters less than it sounds. Birth control is covered without cost sharing by most ACA-compliant plans, so if you have one, your plan’s pharmacy benefit almost certainly beats $12 a month. Hair-loss treatment is widely treated as cosmetic and excluded either way, so cash is the only channel regardless.

Where insurance matters most is weight loss. If a commercial plan covers Wegovy or Zepbound, a copay will beat both Hers and the manufacturer’s self-pay price. Check that first. If your plan excludes GLP-1s, the honest comparison is the Hers medication price plus $149 a month against the manufacturer program with no membership at all. NovoCare’s self-pay Wegovy pen is $199 a month for the first two fills through December 31, 2026 and $349 a month after that. Hers charges $199 for the same pen plus $149 in membership, or about $348. The two land within a dollar of each other after the intro period, and NovoCare is $149 a month cheaper during it. On the Lilly side, LillyDirect’s Zepbound Self Pay Journey Program prices the 2.5 mg vial or KwikPen at $299 a month, 5 mg at $399 and every higher dose at $449, while Hers charges “from $299” plus $149 membership.

One thing any cash payer should know before signing up for an auto-renewing health subscription: Hims & Hers disclosed that on July 29, 2026 the FTC, the Utah Division of Consumer Protection and Los Angeles County filed a complaint alleging violations of the FTC Act and the Restore Online Shoppers’ Confidence Act, following an October 2023 civil investigative demand into its privacy, advertising, subscription and cancellation practices. Those are allegations, not findings, and the company says it intends to defend itself. The practical takeaway is the same one that applies to any recurring charge. Hers’s own terms say you must cancel at least two days before your renewal processing date, that cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period, that there are no refunds for partially used subscription periods, and that the first month’s weight-loss membership fee is non-refundable.

How to Pay Less

Price the generic before you subscribe. This is the whole ballgame for psychiatry and birth control. Cost Plus Drugs sells 30 tablets of sertraline 50 mg for $5.69 against Hers’s $49 a month, and CMS acquisition-cost data as of August 19, 2026 puts common generic birth control pills at 9 to 22 cents a tablet, which is $2.54 to $6.18 for a 28-day pack. Our birth control, sertraline and minoxidil guides price each one at the counter.

Separate the visit from the drug. The real product in a telehealth subscription is the prescription. If you already have a prescriber, or can get one for a single self-pay visit, you can take the script to a cash pharmacy and skip the monthly fee entirely. A PlushCare or Teladoc visit is a one-time charge rather than an open-ended subscription, and free and sliding-scale clinics write the same prescriptions for less.

Run a discount card against the subscription price. For anything with a real generic, compare the monthly subscription number to a card price before committing. Our guide to GoodRx vs. SingleCare explains how to check both, and the fair price checker will tell you whether a quoted price is in range.

Go to the manufacturer directly for branded GLP-1s. Novo Nordisk and Lilly both run self-pay pharmacies with no membership layer on top. The Wegovy, Zepbound and GLP-1 guides walk through the current programs, and the cheapest GLP-1 route compares them side by side.

Do not carry a membership in a month you are not medicated. The Hers membership auto-renews independently of the medication plan, and you can cancel the medication plan without cancelling the membership. If you pause treatment and forget, that is $149 a month for access you are not using.

Ask about assistance before you assume cash is the only option. Manufacturer patient assistance and foundation programs cover several of the branded drugs Hers resells. Our guide to prescription assistance programs lists who qualifies and how to apply.

The Bottom Line

For the cheap half of the Hers catalog, the subscription is defensible. Birth control at $12 a month and minoxidil at $12.67 are close enough to cash-pharmacy economics that the bundled consult, refills and free shipping are worth the difference to a lot of people. Psychiatry at $49 a month is a different story, because the same tablet costs $5.69 for a month at Cost Plus, and the premium is buying the prescriber relationship rather than the pill.

For weight loss, the arithmetic is harsher. The $149 monthly membership sits on top of medication priced at or near what the manufacturer charges directly, which means the membership is close to pure markup once you are past the first month. Hims & Hers’s disclosed figure of $92 in monthly revenue per average subscriber for the quarter ended June 30, 2026 is a fair sense of what a typical customer across both brands spends, and a weight-loss subscriber spends several times that.
