European Wax Center is the largest out-of-home waxing business in the United States and a publicly traded company (NASDAQ: EWCZ). Its annual report for fiscal 2025, the year ended January 3, 2026, counts 1,047 centers across 44 states and says the network delivered roughly 23 million waxing services on $947.3 million of system-wide sales.
The number that matters for your appointment is buried in the same filing: 1,042 of those 1,047 centers are franchised. The company earns a 6.0 percent royalty on franchisee gross sales rather than setting the retail menu, which is why the price on the national website and the price at the center nearest you are frequently different numbers. This page prices EWC specifically. For what a Brazilian costs across independent salons, day spas and other chains, see our Brazilian wax cost guide.
What Does European Wax Center Cost Without Insurance?
Four store menus were read on September 4 2026: Houston (Bunker Hill), Raleigh (Brier Creek), Santa Clara and Chicago (Lincoln Park). The table below is the spread across those four centers, not a national average. EWC’s own service pages carry lower “starting at” figures that none of the four charged.
| Service | Low | Average | High |
|---|---|---|---|
| Brazilian, women (V) | $66 | $72 | $79 |
| Brazilian, men (P) | $66 | $83 | $99 |
| Bikini Full, women | $56 | $62 | $68 |
| Bikini Line, women | $44 | $51 | $55 |
| Underarms | $28 | $30 | $31 |
| Eyebrows | $23 | $26 | $31 |
| Full legs | $79 | $91 | $102 |
| Full back | $67 | $79 | $90 |
| Full chest | $35 | $42 | $48 |
| Full arms | $47 | $55 | $63 |
| Brazilian, Wax Pass price per visit | $49.50 | $54 | $59.25 |
Houston Bunker Hill is the cheapest of the four on almost every line, and it is the only one of the four that charges men and women the same price for a Brazilian ($66 either way). Chicago Lincoln Park also prices the Brazilian identically for both at $79. Raleigh and Santa Clara do not: Raleigh charges $69 and $89, and Santa Clara charges $75 and $99.
That is a 20 percent spread between the cheapest and most expensive women’s Brazilian, and a 50 percent spread on the men’s. Eyebrows swing even harder in percentage terms, from $23 in Houston to $31 in Santa Clara. Full legs run $79 in Raleigh against $102 in Chicago.
What Drives the Price
The franchisee sets it. Every center page carries the same disclaimer: prices and services may vary by location and are subject to change without notice, exclusive of sales tax. That is not boilerplate. The 10-K describes a royalty model built on franchisee gross sales, so the corporate incentive is volume, not a uniform price list.
The national “starting at” numbers are floors, not averages. waxcenter.com’s service menu advertises a Brazilian starting at $56, a full bikini at $47, a bikini line at $39, underarms at $24, eyebrows at $21, full legs at $75, a full back at $63 and a full face at $59. Every one of those is below what all four centers we read actually charge. Treat the national page as the cheapest center in the system, then look up your own.
EWC contradicts its own site on the same day. The wax services page and the body waxing page were both live on September 4 2026 and disagree on several services. The services page lists a full arm at $42, half arm $38, lower legs $42, upper back $27, lower back $22, shoulders $26. The body waxing page lists the same services at $49, $41, $46, $30, $25 and $30. If you are budgeting off a national page, you are budgeting off a number that moves depending on which page you land on.
The (V) and (P) menu split. Most centers price bikini services twice, once for clients with a vagina and once for clients with a penis. Where the two differ, the (P) price is 15 to 32 percent higher. Where a franchisee has chosen a single price, men effectively get the women’s rate. This is a per-center decision worth checking before you book.
Center economics. Average unit volume was $896,000 in fiscal 2025, down from $915,000 the prior year, and the network shrank by 20 centers (11 openings against 31 closures). Divide $947.3 million of system-wide sales by roughly 23 million services and the average EWC transaction is about $41, well under a Brazilian. That tells you the volume business is brows, lips and underarms, and the Brazilian is the margin service.
Cash Price vs. Insurance
There is no insurance angle here at all. Waxing is a cosmetic service, so no health plan covers it, there is no allowed amount to compare against, and the menu price is already the cash price. Sales tax applies where your state charges it, and every EWC price page states that prices are quoted exclusive of tax.
What EWC does have, which most healthcare providers do not, is a fully published price list per location. Use it. If you are traveling or choosing between two centers in the same metro, the store pages let you compare exact figures before you book, the same discipline we recommend for medical services in our guide to hospital price transparency.
How to Pay Less
Understand what the 25 percent on the store page actually is. Every center page shows a “Wax Pass Price per Visit” column with 25 percent off next to every service. That figure is the new-guest 9+3 pass: buy 9 services, get 3 free, so you pay 9 for 12 and each visit costs 75 percent of the single-service price. The national Wax Pass page tells a different story for everyone else. A Single Center pass is buy 9, get 2 free, which is 18 percent. Redeem Anywhere is buy 6 get 1 (14 percent) or buy 9 get 2 (18 percent). Only the Student pass, buy 3 get 1 free with a valid ID in center, reaches 25 percent for a returning guest.
Buy the new-guest pass on your first or second visit, or lose the best price in the system. EWC states the 9+3 pass is valid for new guests on their first or second visit only. The Welcome Wax Pass (buy 3, get 1 free) is first visit only and expires six months from purchase. Miss both windows and your ceiling drops to 18 percent.
Match the pass type to how you actually book. Single Center passes are online only, cheaper on paperwork, and useless if you move or travel. Redeem Anywhere passes cost the flexibility premium but can be bought on a payment plan in center. The Unlimited pass is a flat annual rate but expires after 12 months and only covers underarm, full face, brow and bikini services, so it is a brow-and-underarm product, not a Brazilian product.
Take the first-time offers on the services that carry them. As of September 4 2026 the site banner advertises 50 percent off any new service and $10 for referring a friend. The body waxing page separately marks upper, mid and lower back as free for first-time guests and full back as 50 percent off. Those are small services, so stack them on a visit you were making anyway.
Price the competition before you commit to twelve visits. A pass is a year-long commitment at one brand. Independent studios and the other national chains often price a Brazilian below EWC’s center rate, and the comparison is laid out in our Brazilian wax cost guide. If you are on a Brazilian every four weeks indefinitely, also run the arithmetic against laser hair removal or a chain package like Milan Laser, because a $72 Brazilian thirteen times a year is roughly $936 before tip.
Keep discretionary spending behind real bills. If a Wax Pass is competing with a medical balance, the balance wins. Start with negotiating medical bills, and if anything has already gone past due, medical bills in collections covers what to do next.
The Bottom Line
Look up your own center’s page before you assume any advertised European Wax Center price applies to you. The national menu’s “starting at $56” Brazilian was not available at any of the four centers we checked on September 4 2026, where the real range was $66 to $79 for women and $66 to $99 for men.
If you are going to wax regularly at EWC, the new-guest 9+3 pass on your first or second visit is the best price the system offers, at 25 percent off, and it is the only way a non-student gets that number. After that window closes you are looking at 14 to 18 percent. For the market-wide picture, including independent studios, day spas and competing chains, our Brazilian wax cost guide prices every common wax service across five published menus.
