Noom advertises itself in months but does not sell months. Every Noom Weight plan is a prepaid block of time, and the friendly “$17 a month” figure in the marketing is really $209 charged once, up front, for a full year. The gap between the advertised monthly rate and the amount that actually leaves your bank account on day one is the most important thing to understand before you sign up.
Insurance is not part of this equation. Noom states on its own pricing page that insurance does not cover the Noom program itself, which means the published subscription price is the only price. This guide lays out Noom’s own numbers as read on September 4, 2026, what each plan renews at, and where the medication tracks add costs the program price does not include. It is a pricing guide, not medical advice or a review.
What Does Noom Cost Without Insurance?
Every figure below comes from Noom’s own pages read on September 4, 2026: the Noom Weight plan pricing article in its support center and the Noom Med plans and pricing page. Noom notes on that support page that pricing “may vary slightly depending on promotions or your signup method (like through the app vs. website),” so treat these as list prices rather than a personalized quote. The 12-month totals are arithmetic on Noom’s published rates.
| Noom plan | To get started | Rate after that | Cost over 12 months |
|---|---|---|---|
| Noom Weight, 1 month | $70 | $70 per month | $840 |
| Noom Weight, 3 months | $159 | $159 per 3 months | $636 |
| Noom Weight, 4 months | $169 | $169 per 4 months | $507 |
| Noom Weight, 6 months | $179 | $179 per 6 months | $358 |
| Noom Weight, 12 months | $209 | $209 per year | $209 |
| Weight Loss Pill (metformin) | $69 | $99/mo, billed quarterly | About $1,257 |
| Proactive Health GLP-1Rx | $149 per 4 weeks | $149 per 4 weeks | About $1,937 |
| Microdose GLP-1Rx | $79 | $179/mo ($537 per quarter) | About $2,227 |
| GLP-1Rx | $129 | $249/mo ($747 per quarter) | About $3,117 |
| GLP-1Rx Plus | $149 | $299/mo ($897 per quarter) | About $3,737 |
| Med telehealth, branded drug | $39 | $129/mo, drug billed separately | About $1,458 plus the drug |
Noom publishes a price for every plan length from one month to twelve, not just the three it advertises. The in-between rungs are worth knowing: two months is $129, five months is $174, and ten months is $199. The curve flattens hard after the six-month mark, so the jump from a six-month plan at $179 to a twelve-month plan at $209 buys another half year for $30.
One number on Noom’s own site is inconsistent. The Noom Med pricing page lists the Microdose GLP-1Rx program at $79 to start and $179 a month after, while the footnote on Noom’s homepage on the same day describes an initial subscription “from $79 plus tax and $199 per month,” and a footnote inside Noom’s own cost blog describes “$49 plus tax and $179 per month,” labeled as new pricing effective July 27, 2026. The medication programs are actively repriced, so confirm your quote at checkout before you agree to it.
What Drives the Price
How long a block you prepay. This is the single biggest lever on Noom Weight, and it swings the annual cost by a factor of four. Twelve months costs $209. Twelve months bought one month at a time costs $840.
Whether medication is bundled. Noom Weight is a behavior-change app with coaching and no prescription. The GLP-1Rx programs bundle clinical care, the digital program and the medication itself into one subscription price, which is why they cost ten to eighteen times as much. The one exception is the branded-medication telehealth plan at $39 then $129 a month, which explicitly excludes the drug.
Which medication. Dose and molecule move the price. Noom’s low-dose Microdose program is $179 a month, the standard GLP-1Rx program is $249, and GLP-1Rx Plus, which Noom describes as acting on both GLP-1 and GIP receptors, is $299. The metformin pill plan is the cheapest medication track at $99 a month.
Promotions and signup channel. Noom’s support page warns that price varies by promotion and by whether you sign up in the app or on the web. Signing up through the Apple App Store or Google Play also changes who bills you, which changes how you cancel later.
The renewal, not the intro. Every Noom Weight plan renews automatically unless canceled, and the introductory rate on a medication plan applies only to the first four-week supply. The $79 Microdose entry price is one four-week charge. The next bill is $537 for a quarter.
Cash Price vs. Insurance
There is no cash discount here because there is no insurance price to discount from. Noom’s own FAQ says insurance does not cover the Noom program, and commercial plans generally do not treat a behavioral weight-management app as a covered medical benefit. What you see published is what you pay.
Two channels can change that. The first is your employer. Noom sells directly to employers, health plans and health systems, and members of those groups can get the program at no cost or heavily subsidized. Ask HR or check your plan’s wellness benefits before you buy retail, because the consumer price and the employer-sponsored price are not the same product line.
The second is the drug, not the program. If you go through Noom’s telehealth plan for branded medication, the prescription is billed separately and can run through insurance or through a manufacturer self-pay channel. For comparison, NovoCare’s published self-pay price for the Wegovy pen on September 4, 2026 is $199 a month for a new patient’s first two fills and $349 a month after that, with the oral version starting at $149 a month at the 1.5 mg dose and $299 at 25 mg. Stacking that on the $129-a-month telehealth membership puts a realistic first-year total near $5,350. Our GLP-1 cost guide and Wegovy cost guide break those figures down dose by dose.
The third lever is tax-advantaged money. IRS Publication 502 for 2025 returns allows amounts paid to lose weight as a medical expense when the program is treatment for a specific disease diagnosed by a physician, naming obesity, hypertension and heart disease as examples. General-health weight loss does not qualify, and gym or health club dues are excluded outright. Noom says it does not accept HSA or FSA cards at checkout but will provide a receipt, and its clinicians can issue a Letter of Medical Necessity for the medication plans on request. That combination is what most FSA administrators want to see.
How to Pay Less
Buy the longest block you will realistically use. The 12-month plan at $209 is the cheapest access to Noom that exists, and the six-month plan at $179 is second. If you are unsure whether the app fits you, a shorter block costs more per month but risks less money, and Noom’s stated refund window for a Noom Weight purchase is 14 days from the charge.
Check your employer and health plan first. This is the only route to a genuinely free or near-free subscription, and it takes one email to HR. Noom runs separate employer, health plan and health system channels precisely because those buyers exist.
Use HSA or FSA dollars with documentation. Pay with a normal card, keep the emailed receipt, and get a Letter of Medical Necessity if your administrator asks for one. Paying with pre-tax dollars is effectively a discount equal to your marginal tax rate, and IRS Publication 502 is the document your administrator is working from.
Separate the coaching from the drug. Bundled medication plans are convenient but they hide the two prices inside one number. Price the program on its own, price the prescription on its own through a manufacturer self-pay program or a cash pharmacy, and compare. Our guide to GoodRx vs. SingleCare covers how to shop the pharmacy side, and the fair price checker shows typical cash ranges for related services.
Cancel on purpose, not by deleting the app. Noom’s support page is explicit that uninstalling the app does not cancel anything. Cancel in the app under Settings and Manage Subscription, on the web through the Subscription Portal, or through the App Store or Google Play if that is where you signed up. Access continues through the end of the billing cycle you already paid for. The FTC’s enforcement policy statement on negative option marketing says that under the Restore Online Shoppers’ Confidence Act, sellers must provide a simple mechanism to stop recurring charges, and that the cancellation path should be at least as easy to use as the signup path. If a company puts obstacles in the way, that is the standard it is being measured against.
Price the free and cheap alternatives honestly. A calorie-tracking app, a library cookbook and a walking habit cost nothing. If you want live human support, a session or two with a registered dietitian may cost less than a year of a bundled plan; see nutritionist cost for the going rates. Community health centers and free and sliding-scale clinics sometimes run nutrition counseling on an income-based fee scale. And if a bundled charge has already hit your account and you are disputing it, the tactics in how to negotiate medical bills apply to health-adjacent subscription billing too.
The Bottom Line
Noom Weight is inexpensive if you prepay a year and expensive if you do not. The honest comparison is $209 against $840, and everything in between is a function of how much commitment you are willing to buy. The medication tracks are a different product at a different scale, running roughly $1,257 to $3,737 a year with the drug included, and the branded telehealth plan is cheaper on paper only because the prescription is billed to you separately.
Before you enter a card, write down three numbers: the amount charged today, the amount charged at the next renewal, and the total for twelve months. Noom publishes all three if you look for them. If you are weighing this against a competitor, our Weight Watchers cost guide runs the same arithmetic on that program, and gym membership cost covers the other end of the spending spectrum.
